Wink and Time Create Interactive Ads

Wink Communications, Inc. announced that Wink's Enhanced Broadcasting technology will be used to create "on demand" subscription campaigns for select Time Inc. magazines such as Sports Illustrated and Entertainment Weekly. With a few clicks of their remote control, viewers will be able to instantly subscribe to these magazines. The first Wink-enhanced ads allowing viewers to order Sports Illustrated will begin airing this quarter. Viewers watching Time Inc.'s 60-second enhanced ads are alerted that the ad is interactive by a blinking icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. When viewers choose to interact with the ad, they simply press a button on the remote control to view an enhancement that includes subscription ordering information for the magazine being advertised. At that point, the viewers have the opportunity to instantly subscribe.
