ROBERT BECKER has been appointed as Jupiter Media Metrix's new chief executive officer. Becker, who was also elected to the company's board of directors, was the chairman and CEO of Infosis (recently merged with a competitor), a start-up business-to-business Internet services provider, targeting online content providers.

NetZero's four founders -- RONALD T. BURR, president of NetZero; STACY A. HAITSUKA, senior VP of Technology; HAROLD MCKENZIE, VP of Software; and MARWAN ZEBIAN, VP of Networking and Communications -- have resigned from all positions at the company to start a new non-competitive company named Layer2 Networks.

JAMES C. FINK, has named been appointed to the CEO post of worldwide market research Opinion Research Corporation. Most recently, he was President of the worldwide brand research division of Enterprise IG.

KAREN PAULL has been promoted from contractor to Director of Sales and Sponsorships at Snapfish.com.

THOMAS J. KING has joined Clear Channel Interactive as VP/Western Regional Sales. He was formerly President and CEO of Southwest Multimedia and was acting as VP for HowStuffWorks.com.

JAY JOHNSON has been promoted from salesman to director of product development at TownNews.com.

JENNIFER LACROIX joins Horizon Media in Los Angeles as a Media Supervisor. Previously, she had her own consulting company in the SF Bay Area, KMV Advertising.

SEAN FINNEGAN has joined Tribal DDB Worldwide as Media Director of its Chicago office. Most recently, he had been VP of Advertising Development at AllAdvantage.com.

JAMES A. BONAVENTURA has joined Getty Images, Inc. as Senior VP of Sales. Since 1999, he has been senior VP of sales for Executive Health Group.

PAUL CAINE has been named associate publisher of advertising sales at People magazine after spending four years launching and developing Teen People.

BRIAN C. KENNEDY has been appointed Southwest ad director in the Irvine office of Entrepreneur Media Inc. He had been heading the West coast offices of Inc. as Western advertising director.

DOMINIC MANCUSO has been promoted to WGN-TV director of sales. He's been with the station since 1987.

ERIK SORENSON has been promoted from VP and general manager to president and general manager of MSNBC.

SEAN BRATCHES has been upped from senior VP of affiliate sales and marketing to executive VP of sales and marketing at ESPN. ARTIE BULGRIN moves up to senior VP of research and sales development from VP at the sports network.

LOU MONTESANO has been named director of marketing and strategic planning at The New Yorker. He had been at SmartMoney as the first director of business development.

TONY GLAVES has been named CEO of AllBusiness, a provider of comprehensive service and commerce platforms for small businesses. Glaves most recently served as president of Magnify Marketing Services.

JOHN V. ROACH was elected Chairman of the Board of Markettrix Incorporated. Roach, Chairman Emeritus of Tandy Corporation/Radio Shack, formerly served as CEO and Chairman of Tandy.

RIK MYSLEWSKI has been named editor-in-chief of MacAddict magazine. Myslewski was formerly VP and editorial director of Productopia, creator and executive producer of Macworld Live!, and executive editor of MacUser magazine.

SCOTT WARE, editor of The Albuquerque Tribune, has been named editor of The Sun in Bremerton, Wash., effective Aug. 1. KELLY BREWER, The Tribune's managing editor, will succeed Ware as editor in Albuquerque.

Sharpe Partners has added two positions to the interactive marketing agency. NICOLE BUSBY has been named to the newly created position of Client Strategist and JAMISON LOWELL JONES has been hired as Art Director, also a new position.

CARY JONES, President of Meredith Broadcasting Group, has resigned his position effective at the end of the month.

KATHARINE GRAHAM, the veteran top executive of The Washington Post who presided over the newspaper's coverage of the Watergate scandal, passed away yesterday. She was 84.
