General Motors, SAIC Unveiling 2-Seat Urban Vehicle
GM and its Chinese partner, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. Group (SAIC), will exhibit three working versions of the vehicle -- the Pride, Magic and Laugh -- at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai in May. It could retail at one-fifth to one-sixth the price of a conventional car and cost a third or a fourth of what it takes to operate.
"EN-V reinvents the automobile by creating a new vehicle DNA through the convergence of electrification and connectivity," says GM China president Kevin Wale in a statement. "It provides an ideal solution for urban mobility that enables future driving to be free from petroleum and emissions, free from congestion and accidents, and more fun and fashionable than ever before."
