NBC, IndoorDirect Shop 'Community' To Diners

NBC's

Not everyone is always in front of their laptops for work and play -- sometimes they go out for lunch. That's where NBC hopes to get some viewers to sample a special showing of its first-year show "Community."

On Friday, April 23 at noon, in a deal with indoorDIRECT's Restaurant Entertainment Network, NBC will send a special episode of the comedy into the biggest fast-food restaurants in the country: Wendy's, Denny's, Arby's, Carl's Jr., Hardee's, and McDonald's. The screening is expected to target some 500,000 and 650,000 people.

The goal is to get consumers to sample the NBC show in a more comfortable environment.

Bill Myers, co-founder and COO of indoorDIRECT, stated: "What sets indoorDIRECT and the Restaurant Entertainment Network apart is that our audience has much more time to absorb and enjoy content... We can engage viewers and make the experience interactive."

Part of the promotion will include pitching the show on NBC Mobile, sending fans information about where to find the nearest indoorDIRECT network location. There will also be interactive mobile polling for diners that screen the show in fast-food locations.

A week before the event, customized promos starring "Community" cast members will air on indoorDIRECT.

There will be an online promotion for the special show on NBC.com, indoorDIRECT.com and both company's social media channels, including Twitter and Facebook. A local market promotional schedule will also run on NBC-owned KNBC Los Angeles.
