The SunChips snack brand, from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, will broadcast the winning video from a consumer contest during prime-time via the distribution network of its partner in the promotion, Current TV, and on additional cable TV channels. The ad will run until the end of April, in honor of Earth Month. SunChips challenged consumers to use Current TV's VCAM (Viewer Created Ad Messages) platform to create videos that encourage positive change in the world while featuring the brand's new 100%-compostable bag. The winning entry, "Little Steps," from Brooklyn, N.Y. resident Heather Kramer, was filmed in stop-motion video and shows the journey of one of the bags from the trash to the compost heap. The winner was chosen by Al Gore, former U.S. vice president and chairman/co-founder of Current TV. The video is also featured on Current's and SunChips Web sites and in Frito-Lay social media channels. The contest is part of SunChips' broader consumer outreach platform, including a currently running national ad campaign, themed around encouraging consumers to take small steps toward greener lifestyles.--Karlene Lukovitz
