Mediasmith Names Frash To SVP Post

Mediasmith on Thursday named Bill Frash as its new SVP of New Business Development. Previously, Frash served as the SVP of New Business Development for Carat & ICG, where he helped land such accounts as Samsung Wireless, Hyundai/Kia Factory & Dealers, Jack in the Box, DHL, and Mitsubishi Dealers.

In his new role, Frash will be expected to lead all of Mediasmith's new business ventures, while also building and maintaining partnerships with creative agencies.

David Smith, founder and CEO of Mediasmith, said he has worked with Frash for more than 20 years whenever he partnered with ICG, and then Carat. "Bill is an outright superstar in new business development," said Smith.

According to Frash, Mediasmith is "a thought and metrics-development leader in the digital/interactive/wireless marketplace."

The San Francisco-based media agency has aggressively sought to keep up with emerging industry trends. In late-2008, for instance, it debuted M3 -- a bundled service that supports emerging technologies, social media and search in one package.

In April, Mediasmith named John Cate executive vice president-general manager. Cate, who also joined Mediasmith's executive committee, was formerly executive vice president-general manager at Aegis Group's Carat unit.

At the time, Smith said the addition of Cate "effectively opens up a new era for Mediasmith." He also alluded to "many exciting announcements" in the next several months.
