Natural/organic products maker The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. has acquired Churchill Food Products Limited, a U.K.-based manufacturer/distributor of "food-to-go" products.

In April, Hain acquired London-based Daily Bread, Ltd., a maker of branded fresh prepared foods for U.K. foodservice channels. Hain said that the Churchill acquisition is expected to complement the Daily Bread brand, and is part of Hain's plan to return the company to profitability within the U.K. by its fiscal 2011.

"We view this as a strategic acquisition to broaden our customer base and our Daily Bread branded products," said Hain president/CEO Irwin D. Simon, in the announcement. "Our combined technical and innovation teams will bring us the capability of developing more exciting and healthy food-to-go products."
