Ad Firm Tumri Adds Yahoo, Microsoft Veterans

  • July 21, 2010

Ad technology firm Tumri has added former Yahoo and Microsoft ad executives to fill two key positions at the company. David Kim, most recently president and CEO at digital media portal Course Hero, has joined Tumri as president. David Smith, formerly partner and founder of Elevage Media Advisor, has been named chief revenue officer.

Prior to Course Hero, Kim held business development roles at companies such as search engine marketing firm Efficient Frontier and also served as general manager of advertiser Web services at Yahoo. At Tumri, he will oversee the company's business strategy and business development efforts.

Smith -- who was previously director of publisher sales at Microsoft Advertising and led professional services and sales at yield management company Rapt -- will lead sales, marketing and client services in his new role. Tumri's technology allows users to optimize display ad campaigns by tweaking separate creative elements on the fly based on performance. --Mark Walsh
