It's Official: Paul Lee To ABC Entertainment President

Paul Lee

ABC made it official: ABC Family president Paul Lee will become the new president of the ABC Entertainment Group, immediately replacing Stephen McPherson, who abruptly resigned earlier this week.

Like McPherson, Lee has been in his current position for six years, and like his predecessor, he has lifted his network's ratings during his term.

Under Lee, ABC Family has seen consistent growth launching big shows such as "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," "Kyle XY," "Pretty Little Liars," "Greek," "Make It or Break It" and "Huge."

To date, ABC Family ranks among the top five cable networks in prime time among its key young women viewers: 18-49, 18-34, 12-34 and teens. The network has also seen improvement among broader audience -- total viewers and adult 18-49 viewers.

In his new role, Lee will oversee all creative and business operations for ABC Studios, as well as all development, programming, marketing and scheduling operations for ABC Entertainment.

Lee will continue to report to Anne Sweeney, co-chairman of Disney/ABC Media Networks and and president of Disney/ABC Television Group.
