Williams Communications' Vyvx Broadband Media unit will expand its network for electronic distribution of advertisements from more than 600 television stations across the United States to more than
800 stations by as early as the end of second quarter of 2002. The company is also preparing to deploy new software, developed by Drastic Technologies, on its network of servers that will enable
"machine control," allowing the servers to emulate a studio-quality video tape recorder device, giving stations an increased level of flexibility and efficiency with electronic spots. Williams
Communications' Vyvx Broadband Media unit delivers more than 2.75 million advertising spots to stations each year.
