Zipcar Launches Social Media Campaign

Zipcar Inc. has launched a social media campaign called Low-Car Diet. The effort is to get people to give up their wheels for 30 days and use other means for mobility. Those whom Zipcar chooses to participate get free membership and other incentives.

The company also did it last year, wherein some 252 people participated. They also lost a total of 413 pounds. Not each, of course.

Zipcar is hosting kickoff events and end-of challenge celebrations in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington, D.C. Participants are meant to use Twitter and other social media channels to talk about the experience.
