In an effort to entice more of its members to trade up to its $100-a-year Plus membership, Sam's Club is launching a six-day promotion for all its customers, including a taste of its innovative eValues programs and extended shopping hours.
Sam's will load $300 in coupons directly onto members' cards, from $2 off Tide detergent to $100 off a computer printer. The retailer says just 1% of all coupons ever get redeemed, and that electronic storage makes them easier to use.
The Wal-Mart subsidiary says it is also extending its early shopping hours, which begin at 7:00 am, to all its members for the promotional period. Sam's has about 47 million members; basic memberships cost $35.
