Motorola used the season premiere of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (which is entering its final season) to introduce its latest smartphone: the Defy.

The new phone, which will be available through the T-Mobile network, includes a high-resolution and scratch-resistant touchscreen for better Web site, photo and video viewing, according to the company. The Android-powered phone will include the company's Motoblur software, as well as access to Gmail, Google Maps and Google's search engine.

"Defy is designed to handle everything that life throws your way," said Bill Ogle, chief marketing officer, Motorola Mobility, Inc., in a statement. "With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, Defy packs Web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as an exterior design that can withstand the stresses of everyday life."
