Southwest Donates To Gulf Wildlife Aid

Southwest Airlines will donate up to $100,000 ($1 from every early bird check-in purchase through Oct. 4) to the National Wildlife Refuge Association to aid in Gulf wildlife recovery efforts.
The spill could continue to affect Gulf waters, wildlife refuges, and the wildlife that depend on them for decades, according to the wildlife group, which is aiding the brown pelicans, manatees, terns, sea turtles and other wildlife that make their homes in 36 national wildlife refuges along the Gulf Coast.
Southwest is the official airline of the National Wildlife Refuge System, which includes more than 550 refuges in 50 states.--Tanya Irwin
