All three cable news networks suffered ratings declines in November vs October, while Fox News Channel was the only outlet to gain viewers year-on-year. During primetime, Fox News averaged 948,000 households in November, up 27% compared with last November, while CNN averaged 1.06 million households (a 15% dip), and MSNBC averaged 528,000 homes (down 8%). All three networks were down substantially from October, when Fox News averaged 1.8 million households, CNN averaged 1.53 million households and MSNBC averaged 772,000 households. Last November, CNN was seeing a ratings boom due to coverage of the contested presidential election. It should also be noted that Fox News has gained distribution in 18.1 million households since last November. - Variety
