Walmart says it is partnering with insurance giant Humana to offer a co-branded Medicare Part D prescription drug plan for just $14.80 a month, which it claims is the lowest price in the country.

The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer says the plan, called the Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP), can save a typical participant more than $450 next year on premiums, copayments and cost-shares when compared with national averages. Some 18 million Americans use Medicare Part D for their prescriptions, including seniors and people with disabilities.
