United Virtualities Unveils Branded Browser in UK

  • July 16, 2004
Online ad technology developer United Virtualities launched its advertiser branded Ooqa-Ooqa browser in the UK under a 12-month agreement with United International Pictures (UIP), ensuring UIP exclusive use of the product worldwide within the film distribution segment, excluding North America. The technology replaces the user's browser and toolbar with a branded browser, maintaining all the users' tools and adding others such as Amber Alerts, a currency converter and direct sponsor links. The first UIP campaign, for the movie Thunderbirds, will feature a button which prompts an image of the rocket plane featured on the popular '60s British puppet show to fly across the browser, revealing the film's launch date. UIP has committed to use the Ooqa-Ooqa browser in conjunction with at least ten movie releases. United Virtualities is best known for its Shoshkele out-of-banner rich-media format.
