According to comments by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Reuters is reporting that the microblogging service is ready to create a news service of its own. Stone, it writes, "is eager to harness the vast
quantities of information that it helps its users share to create a news network." Suggesting that Stone was merely speaking hypothetically -- or that Twitter isn't quite ready to alienate the news
media -- the Twitters vice president of communications, Sean Garrett, tweeted Wednesday afternoon: "No plans for a 'Twitter news network.'" Still, as Reuters notes: "A Twitter news network would not
necessarily be run by Twitter itself, but would be in partnership with several existing news organizations, and would be open, Stone said."
