Brand Keys: Wendy's Needs Those New Fries

  • December 3, 2010
Wendy's launch of crisper, sea salt-flavored fries -- its first fries overhaul in 41 years -- is long overdue, based on ratings reported by Brand Keys.

The firm's Customer Loyalty Engagement Index results show Wendy's coming in at eighth place when consumers were asked to rank leading QSRs specifically on the basis of their fries, against an "ideal" fry that would be scored 100.

Here's how the rankings fall:   McDonald's (91%), Arby's (89%), Hardee's (85%), Carl's Jr. (81%), Nathan's (80%), Jack-in-the-Box/White Castle (tied at 75%), KFC/Chik-fil-A (tied at 71%), Wendy's (65%) and Popeye's (60%).
