Home Depot, Lowe's Aim To Boost Digital Presence

The Home Depot says it is raising its financial forecast for the year, as it outlined its growth initiatives with investors, and says it will continue to focus on customer service, product authority, and "interconnected retail," making shopping seamless across channels.

It now expects sales to be up some 2.3% for the year, with comparable store-sales growth in the low single digits.

Recently, Lowe's, which lowered its financial outlook last month, also said ecommerce-with sales reportedly up 35% over last year-is an increasingly important part of its strategy, and that it will continue to expand and fine-tune its multichannel offerings.
