Today Still Tops In Morning Competition

NBC News’ Today remained on top of the heap in the networks’ morning competition with a share well above both ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS’ revamped Early Show. For the week ending Dec. 8, Today received a 5.1 rating and a 19 share with 6.6 million viewers. Good Morning America had a 3.9 rating and a 14 share, with the Early Show receiving a 2.2 rating and an 8 share and 2.8 million viewers. NBC said its weekly win was the seventh straight year of winning homes. The Dec. 6 show that included a concert by Jennifer Lopez, was Today’s best single day among total viewers and tied for its best delivery among adults 25-54. According to Nielsen Media Research data provided by NBC, Today II had its best show in total viewers and adults 25-54 for a non-holiday week since Feb. 11. It received a 3.6 rating and 14 share with 4.5 million viewers.
