BMW Dealership Seeks Blogger With Right Stuff

  • February 16, 2011
Toronto dealership Endras BMW is looking to hire a BMW enthusiast from anywhere in the world to blog about the brand for the dealership's Web site, EndrasBMW.com. The retailer will pay the blogger $65,000 a year to drive a brand-new BMW, attend BMW events around the world, find the latest BMW news, and blog, Tweet and Facebook about it all, per a release. The dealership is throwing in a downtown Toronto condo for the blogger to crash at duration of the contract.

The dealer says it is looking for someone who is "obsessed with performance," with an in-depth knowledge of BMW product, who is "is willing to spend all day and night writing about it;" can summarize information in 140 characters or less; prefers to "like" something on Facebook rather than in person; is willing to live rent/mortgage-free for a year; has a valid driver's license; is willing to travel and has proof of "a high performance past."

The application process involves submitting a 200-word blog by April 1 and proving that he or she is socially connected by making that post the most popular. Applicants who pass that test have 48 hours to "create and submit a video that demonstrates their obsession with performance," per the release. The 10 contestants whose videos get the most votes then interview with the person who will hire the "Ultimate Blogger."
