Printing company R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. announced its purchase of Journalism Online, the company founded and managed by media magnate Steven Brill and partners to help publishers make money
online, along with the company's Press+, a paid content management system.
"It's not quite the result the co-founders had in mind in April 2009 when" the mag launched "with the trademark
bravura that accompanies a Steve Brill endeavor," writes Paid Content's Staci Kramer. "The launch followed Brill's splashy memo on how to save journalism and the New York Times."
