Extending the presence of such subsidiaries as rich media ad provider Unicast and interactive marketing agency Springbox across Canada, Dallas-based DG has acquired Toronto ad services firm Mijo Corp. for $41 million.

DG, formerly known as DG FastChannel, controls a number of properties that collectively cross the online and broadcast ad worlds. In addition to Unicast and Springbox, they include digital TV distribution service Pathfire, direct-response distributor Treehouse and TV commercial database SourceEcreative.

The resources of Mijo's network include a footprint at over 50 Canadian TV stations and all of the country's radio stations.

Neil Nguyen, president and COO of DG, stated that the Mijo purchase supports DG's efforts to build a worldwide media services platform.

DG said that Mijo co-founders Joel Reitman and Michael Goldberg are expected to remain, along with a core group of 110 Mijo employees.
