Veasey Named Showrunner For CBS' The District

Pam Veasey, who for the past season has been executive producer for the CBS program The District, has been named the series' showrunner. Veasey is one of the highest profile African-American female showrunners and directors in primetime television. Recently, she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Organization of Black Screenwriters. Prior to The District, Veasey served as executive producer and head writer on "In Living Color," for which she garnered two Emmy nominations. She was also a producer on the television program "Rude Awakening," as well as "The Gregory Hines Show" and "Nash Bridges," both on the Network.
