NYT Goes To A Buck

The New York Times announced today that it will raise the newsstand price of its weekday newspaper (Monday-Saturday) from 75 cents to $1.00 within the greater New York metropolitan area effective Monday, December 30. According to The suggested newsstand price of the weekday newspaper will now be the same everywhere in the country. There will be no change in price of the Sunday newspaper. The price of home delivery of the newspaper when purchased through The New York Times's direct home delivery service will also remain as is. The 75-cent newsstand price of The Times on weekdays in the New York area has been in effect since September 1999 and the price outside New York City has been $1.00 since early 1995.
