Kahn Named President of iVillage

Jodi-Kahn

Jodi Kahn, executive vice president of iVillage, has been promoted to the newly created position of president of the women's online network, per NBCU. In the new post, Kahn will continue to lead the business with a focus on extending iVillage's presence to various platforms, including video, mobile and emerging media.

Her responsibilities will also continue to include overseeing the sites within the iVillage network, including Astrology.com, GardenWeb, Lifegoesstrong.com, Petside.com and DinnerTool.com.

Kahn's promotion comes in recognition for helping to rejuvenate iVillage, since joining the company in 2008. That effort has included a site-wide redesign and revamping of individual sections, like entertainment, food and health, that have increased engagement on the site by 43% year-over-year. It has also helped iVillage attract 160 new advertisers last year.

More recently, she has overseen the launch of iVillage Canada in partnership with Rogers Media, marking the first major international expansion since the debut of iVillage.co.uk in 2000. In the last year, Kahn has also spearheaded the site's push into video and mobile, with the launch of five original Web series, as well as launching the "iVillage App Network" -- a set of mobile apps for women on the go.

Nicholas Lehman, president of digital for NBCU Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media, said Kahn had done an "outstanding job" of steering the network's dramatic year-over-year growth.

Yet when it comes to overall traffic, iVillage's audience is shrinking. As of May, the site had 28.8 million monthly visitors -- down from 34.5 million in May 2010, according to comScore.
