MEC Makes AT&T, Canada Appointments

Two key appointments were made by MEC this week. The shop appointed Dennis Donlin to run its massive AT&T business as president Team AT&T. Previously, Donlin ran Mediabrands' Home Depot business, which shifted to Carat without a review earlier this year. Before that, Donlin ran the General Motors account at Publicis' Starcom Mediavest Group.

Separately, MEC named Michele Pauchuk president, MEC Canada. She is based in Toronto. Previously she was executive vice president, managing director, Initiative Canada. Both executives will report to Lee Doyle, MEC's North American CEO.

WPP has merged two of its public relations firms, Robinson Lerer & Montgomery and Finsbury Group. The new unit is called RLM Finsbury with offices in New York, London, Brussels, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. Roland Rudd, founder and head of Finsbury, will be chairman of RLM Finsbury, while Walter Montgomery, a founder and current CEO of RLM, will be CEO.
