Nintendo Taking 'Zelda' Tunes On Tour

  • July 25, 2011
First came orchestras playing the "Star Wars" score live while the movie played in the background. Now Nintendo is betting there are enough fans of the music from the "Legend of Zelda" to warrant a classical music tour.

According to USA Today, Nintendo will celebrate the game's 25th anniversary with a symphony concert this fill and will launch a full tour next year. The concerts will feature a 70-piece orchestra performing a songs from various iterations of the game's quarter-century history. (Apparently, the company used a similar tactic to begin its E3 presentation earlier this year.)

The first concert will be held in Los Angeles on Oct. 21, with a tour planned for 2012, according to the paper. Dates and locations were not disclosed.
