About Time: Times Reorganizes Group, Names Jean New Chief
Jean previously was CFO of the group and COO of its flagship About.com unit, and will now add responsibility for the group's other assets: CalorieCount.com and ConsumerSearch.com.
In a related move, Karen Messineo, a vice president-finance, in The New York Times Media Group, has been named CFO of the About Group, reporting to Jean.
Tracy Raiser was also named senior vice president-sales of the About Group, responsible for all advertising sales, research, sales development, client services and marketing, reporting to Jean. She had been vice president-sales, western region.
Frank Minishak has been appointed vice president-national sales from vice president-advertising sales, eastern region at the About Group, reporting to Raiser.
In its recent second-quarter earnings release, the New York Times Co. said the About Group's revenues fell 17.3% during the quarter due to lower click-through rates and decreased traffic because of changes Google made to its algorithm designed to weed out so-called "content farms."
