90-Year-Old Woman Makes Slider Hall Of Fame

Constance Huening loves White Castle hamburgers, and has since 1920 or thereabouts.

She and her three older siblings would walk from their house in Lockland, Ohio, to the White Castle restaurant on Reading Road in Reading and buy the hamburgers – known as sliders – for a nickel apiece. Every New Year’s Day, Huening eats a slider for good luck.

The company will induct Huening and 11 others in the White Castle Hall of Fame in a ceremony and dinner Thursday in Columbus, where White Castle’s headquarters is located.
