Legendary music soul-pop duo Daryl Hall & John Oates will guest-star as themselves in an outrageous dream sequence where they play their hit song “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)” on an episode of
NBC’s “Ed” on Wednesday, Feb. 26. In the storyline, Ed attempts a self-induced “lucid dream,” in which he eventually realizes he is asleep and dreaming during a bizarre sequence -- but then knowingly
assumes control of the dream for as long as it lasts. His weird lookingglass experience includes meeting Hall & Oates - and concludes by rousing him from his shuteye with an alarm clock that is
blaring one of the pair’s hit songs. The pair join previously announced Taye Diggs (“Chicago,” “Ally McBeal”) who will also appear as himself in the dream scenes. “Ed” is produced by NBC Studios in
association with Worldwide Pants, Inc. and Viacom Productions. The creators are Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman (“Late Show with David Letterman”). The executive producers are Rob Burnett, Jon Beckerman
and David Letterman.
