Point Reach App Promotes Shop, Hits No. 1 In App Store

Point Reach, a Seattle-based mobile agency, launched a free Halloween app, NameScreamer to promote its ad servies. The surprise -- it ended up as No. 1 in the entertainment category in the App Store, and achieved a Top 20 ranking overall, surpassing leading apps from Netflix and Flixster. NameScreamer was positioned as the “must-have app” for Halloween;  the application yells popular names combined with various phrases for users to spread some Halloween spirit, either directly on their phone or via Facebook or e-mail. However, the app’s primary purpose was to serve as a testing mechanism for the agency. NameScreamer featured house ads for testing the agency’s creative offering, and showcased rich media solutions including full-screen interactive interstitials, 3d rotational units and social sharing techniques.
