Q&A: Can NFL Network Take Down ESPN?

Since its debut in November 2003, NFL Network has been a majority-owned and -operated division of the NFL. But with the 2011 season of “Thursday Night Football” coming on Nov. 10, the channel could become a major force in itself.

Mark Quenzel, senior vice president of programming and production, explains in a Q&A how NFL Network has been taking on ESPN and other media outlets by trying to establish itself as a destination for news and information that is independent from NFL control and censorship.
