Clarity Media Sells 'San Francisco Examiner'

Clarity Media announced the sale of The San Francisco Examiner to a newspaper consortium headed by Canadian publishing company, Black Press Group, which owns more than 170 newspapers in North America.

Founded in 1863, the Examiner became a free daily newspaper in 2003. Previous owners included the Fang family and, originally, Hearst.
