Disney's Iger Joins Apple's Board

Signaling even stronger ties with Apple, Bob Iger, president and chief executive officer of Walt Disney Co, has been named to board of directors of the computer and digital device company. “Bob and I have gotten to know one another very well over the past few years and on behalf of the entire board, we think he is going to make an extraordinary addition to our already very strong board,” Tim Cook, chief executive officer of Apple, said in a statement. Until his death in October, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was a member of Walt Disney's board of directors. Jobs joined the studio's board after Disney acquired Pixar for $7.6 billion in 2006 which that made the Jobs Disney's largest shareholder.
