PRN, Outcast Get NFL Highlights
Premier Retail Networks, which operates digital out-of-home networks in big retail chains including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Costco, Target, Albertsons, Pathmark, and ShopRite, has signed a renewal agreement with the National Football League giving it access to NFL Network football highlights during the football season.
The renewal agreement gives PRN access to NFL RedZone Top 5 Highlights, which will run throughout the season on PRN’s HDTV Network, and NFL Network’s Sounds of the Game, which will run on PRN’s Checkout TV Network. Content includes clips showing the biggest plays and most exciting touchdowns from the previous week.
PRN isn’t the only digital out-of-home platform carrying NFL highlights this season: Outcast, which operates DOOH networks including PumpTopTV in gas stations, also announced a deal giving it access to NFL Network highlights, as well as live match-up information for Thursday Night Football games. Outcast will broadcast NFL content to 12,000 screens nationwide. According to research cited by Outcast, frequent visitors to gas stations are 65% more likely than the average adult to attend NFL games.
Outcast, which recently merged with Health Club Media Network, reported that its PumpTopTV network expanded 15% in the first half of the year, adding around 2,900 screens across 35 markets. Outcast credited the growth, in large part, to an exclusive partnership with Gilbarco Veeder-Root, which manages gas stations, convenience stores and other associated retail operations.
