The National Retail Federation has just released its annual Top Toys survey, and reports that while Barbie is still the most in-demand toy for girls and video games the No. 1 choice for boys, girls say an iPad is the season’s “must-have,” and both girls and boys named iPods in the top 10.

Meanwhile, the ever-adorable Elmo is back in the top 10 for both genders this year. For boys, the five most requested toys this year are video games, LEGO, cars (generic), Transformers, and Hot Wheels. For girls, Barbie, dolls (generic), Disney Princess and Monster High dolls tied for third place, followed by American Girl dolls.
