November sweeps aren't what they
used to be: CBS had another easy time, winning Monday prime time among key viewers. But all its shows dropped week-to-week.
CBS landed with a Nielsen preliminary 4.0 rating/10 share
among 18-49 viewers, followed by ABC at 2.8/7, Fox at 2.3/6, Univision at 1.5/4, NBC at 1.2/3, and CW at 0.7/2.
Still, CBS lost less ground than many other network shows -- and all its
comedies were still way ahead of all comers. The top-rated show for the night is still "Two and a Half Men" at a strong 5.2/13; followed by "2 Broke Girls" at a 4.4/11; "How I Met Your Mother," at
4.3/12; and "Mike & Molly" at 4.2/10.
The closest rival to any of CBS' shows was ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" finale, which landed at a 3.6/9, down nearly 30% from last year's
season-ender.
Later in the night, ABC's "Castle" at 10 p.m. showed some preliminary signs of improvement versus its last original outing with a 2.7/7, just one-tenth of a rating point
behind CBS' "Hawaii Five-0," which earned a 2.8/7.
Univision continued to notch another victory at NBC's expense on Monday. NBC was at the back of the pack -- although "The Sing-Off,"
nearing its finale, grew almost 10% to a 1.4/4. But on the flip side, "Rock Center" went further south, down almost 20% to a 0.9/2.
CW was next with "Gossip Girl" moving up a bit among
the broader 18-49 viewers, now at a 0.7/2. "Hart Of Dixie" was the same as a week ago, with a 0.7/2.
