Mercury Insurance is backing UCLA Bruins basketball with a promotion offering fans a pair of free tickets to a 2011/2012 UCLA men’s home game. Consumers who fill out an online Mercury auto insurance quote at www.mercuryinsurance.com/bruins get a voucher redeemable for two tickets to an upcoming UCLA home game at the Los Angeles Sports Arena or Honda Center in Anaheim.

Erik Thompson, Mercury Insurance advertising director, said the success of the Bruins and the size of the team's fan base "is one of the primary reasons why UCLA basketball is such a good fit for us."

Mercury will continue to use social media channels Facebook and Twitter to alert fans to the promotion, which ends Feb. 22. 

The company also sponsors the LA Kings and LA Dodgers, as well as the Mercury Insurance Open, the Women’s Tennis Association tour stop in Carlsbad, California.
