MoMA Offers TV Screensavers

  • December 7, 2011

Screen Dreams, a developer of TV and tablet apps, wallpapers and screensavers, is now producing screensavers for TV. The company's "50 Masterworks From The Collection" DVD has selected paintings from the Museum of Modern Art as screensavers for all flat-panel and HDTVs. Some 27 artists are represented from MoMA's esteemed collection, including Van Gogh, Hopper and Cezanne. Available in DVD and Blu-ray, the artworks are backed by a soundtrack. Stephen Spivak, president of Screen Dreams, calls it an opportunity to "experience and learn about these classics up close and personal.” The images play in a loop; the DVD contains more than 50 minutes of content and the Blu-ray disc allows viewers to customize a playlist of favorite paintings.
