Bravo Channel and Miramax have reached a multiple feature-film deal that will allow the cable network to broadcast the basic cable television premiere of "Good Will Hunting" in May 2003 as well as 11 other Miramax titles, including "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "In the Bedroom." The joint announcement was made today by Jeff Zucker, President, NBC Entertainment; Harvey Weinstein, Co-Chairman, Miramax Films and Rick Sands, Chief Operating Officer, Miramax Films. The deal allows NBC's new sister cable network the rights to broadcast nine other movies, including "Sling Blade," "Life Is Beautiful," "Serendipity," "Bounce," "Reservoir Dogs," "Holy Smoke," "The Importance of Being Earnest," "Full Frontal" and "Below." Some of the titles have specific broadcast dates: "Life Is Beautiful" will premiere on Bravo on Sunday, May 25 as part of the cable network's "Weekend at Cannes" weekend. Likewise, "Good Will Hunting" will debut on Saturday, May 31. "Reservoir Dogs" will premiere in May 2004. "This represents a big 'get' for Bravo," said Zucker. "It also sends the message that we are intent upon upgrading our cable programming with the best that the movie industry has to offer in Miramax Films." Sands said, "Miramax is proud to be associated with both Bravo, the cable network, and the management team which is so intent on becoming a major exhibitor of theatrically released product."
