The Wall Street Journal has named Raju Narisetti managing editor of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, which includes WSJ.com, SmartMoney.com, MarketWatch and the Chinese, Japanese and German-language editions of WSJ.com. Narisetti will also become a deputy managing editor of the paper. He will report to Alan Murray, deputy managing editor and executive editor, online.

The move appears to have been precipitated by Thursday's announcement by Atlantic Media, which hired former Wall Street Journal online managing editor Kevin Delaney as editor-in-chief of a new, "digital-first" global business publication that presumably will compete with The Wall Street Journal.
