Beam Inc. Taps Emerging Markets Managing Director
Global spirits company Beam Inc. has hired Arthur Aroney as managing director of emerging markets for its Asia Pacific/South America (APSA) region.
Aroney was most recently COO and general manager of sales and marketing for Staples/Corporate Express Australia.
Aroney, who will be based in the APSA region's headquarters in Australia, will be responsible for driving brand and market growth in Brazil and India (Beam's two largest emerging markets), as well as in Japan and South Korea.
According to Beam, brands showing accelerated growth in these emerging markets include Teacher’s Scotch Whiskey (the #1 Scotch in India and #2 Scotch in Brazil); Jim Beam, the world’s largest-selling Bourbon; and other Beam "power brands," including Sauza Tequila and Courvoisier Cognac.
