Correction: Steve Grubbs Is Even More Senior (Now) At Brightline

In case you saw the earlier Raw blog post about Steve Grubbs joining Brightline as a senior strategic advisor, well, it is true, but it's not so new. He actually did that in June 2010. Sorry I didn't remember that, but when Brightline's PR firm asked if I heard about the news from Grubbs, I assumed it was Grubbs-related news, and that release was the only thing that came up in Google's archives. Sheesh! Turns out, there wasn't much news, just want I ranted about earlier about how Brightline plans to pile on the interactive advertising TV front now that Canoe Ventures is retreating from it. And who knew they were such fierce competitors?

Regarding your original post and this correction, I do not understand why you are so dismissive of the implications of the Canoe news. Even with the backing of the 6 largest MSOs, Canoe could not crack the iTV code. Meanwhile, BrightLine apparently continues to make strides. I don’t think it unseemly at all for BrightLine simply to explain the flaw in Canoe’s strategy, and it strikes me as new and newsworthy that the market has spoken as to which company keeps getting it right. No one can know what the future holds for iTV, but with a major competing approach abandoned, it seems likely that BrightLine will continue to lead the way in shaping it.
