Gyro Taps Agency Vet Postaer For Creative and Co-Management Duties At Its San Francisco Office

Ad agency  Gyro, has tapped Steffan Postaer as executive creative director for its San Francisco office, the agency has confirmed.

In addition to overseeing creative efforts at the office, he will jointly run the San Francisco operation with Robert Ray, the office’s president, Gyro said.

Gyro San Francisco clients include VMware, Hewlitt Packard Printing and Ryder Trucks.

Previously Postaer was chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Chicago, a unit of Havas. During his six years at the helm, Postaer is credited with helping the office quadruple its revenue. Clients included Barilla, Beam Spirits, Kraft, Citibank, Sprint and Valspar Paint.

Postaer is known for his work on Altoids, “The Curiously Strong Mints”. He is also credited with co-writing the “Not Your Father’s Oldsmobile” campaign and Heinz Ketchup’s “Worth the Wait.”

Christoph Becker, global CEO and chief creative officer at Gyro stated that Postaer is “a proven creative leader with the drive to help us continue to build and succeed.”

Earlier, Postaer was executive vice president and executive creative director at Publicis Groupe’s  Leo Burnett USA.  He’s also written three books including “The Happy Soul Industry.”
