Sources: Complaints Against Google+ Made To EU

The European Commission declined to comment on reports that Microsoft and other firms have complained to antitrust regulations about Google’s social networking tool, which could prompt the EU to dig deeper in its investigation into Google.

Two people familiar with the matter told Reuters the companies were informal in expressing their concerns and declined to provide details about the complaint’s nature.

Microsoft said it would not make any statement about "rumors or speculation."

Google, the world's most popular Internet search engine, launched Google+ in June last year, pitting it against Facebook, the world's biggest social network, and Twitter, among others.
