Huggies Pulls Plug On Bad-Dad Ads
Sorry, Pops. That’s what diaper brand Huggies is saying to frustrated fathers who protested its ad campaign that depicts them as less-than-capable parents. Huggies pulled the TV ad and apologized.
In the spot, dads were housed together and given Huggies diapers and wipes and left to care for their babies themselves for five days. A Facebook page was then set up for viewers to “watch the fun.”
That stuck in the craw of millions of stay-at-home dads or full-time single fathers, not to mention those who are “dedicated, diaper-changing dads.” What is this, 1956?
