The New York Post reports that Eddie Lampert, head of the embattled Sears Holdings, is close to ditching the company’s Lands’ End division. Sears, which is based in Hoffman Estates, Ill., has been taking such drastic steps to improve performance as selling stores, closing divisions and laying off corporate staff, is said to be likely to hire Goldman Sachs to run the sale of Lands’ End, which is based in Dodgeville, Wis. Sears, which bought Lands’ End back in 2002,  lost $3.1 billion last year.
