Video Apps Thriving With Facebook Timeline

Video apps are experiencing significant growth numbers as a result of launching Timeline-friendly features for Facebook. That’s according to the social network, which just issued new stats from various video companies, including Vevo and Viddy. “These apps are using Actions, a new way for apps to show up on your Timeline,” VentureBeat points out. “Actions turn structured data into a visually interesting and engaging experience for normal users, and these numbers show how well they work for video sites in particular.”

Since rolling out Facebook Actions, Viddy has doubled its number of average daily signups, and has grown from 60,000 monthly active users to more than 920,000 monthly active users. Meanwhile, Vevo only started integrating with Facebook recently, but it’s already seeing a 200% uptick in daily registrations, notes VB. “Also, Vevo stated that the majority of its traffic -- 60% -- comes via Timeline posts on Facebook.”

Also of note, Facebook reports that Turkey video site Izlesene has seen its monthly active users soar from 250,000 to a whopping 6.5 million since last September, while French startup Dailymotion reported 9 million new users for the Dailymotion Timeline app over the past two months -- bringing in a total of 6 million site visitors per day.
